Stagecoach Fishing Report – Steamboat Springs Colorado

Although the cold temperatures and the rising waters made for a slow start to the fishing season the Spring Trout bite is on.  We have been catching upwards to 20 fish an hour when trolling with Rapalas and Berkley Flicker minnows in the top 15 ft.  The same colors that have always worked are still working great. Black and Gold, Black and silver and perch colored Rapala F-7 and CD-7. Berkley Flicker Minnow size 5 and 7 are also crushing it with chrome, Purple and Chrome and Pink.

From the bank the same old Carolina rig with chartreuse, Rainbow or Lemon twist power bait is going to be your best bet.  The parking area down by the inlet on the North side is great or Harding Cove.

The Pike bite is not yet in full swing but we are catching a few trolling and casting towards shore with larger stick bait and swim bait. The Walleye are hanging out on the steeper slopes and occasionally we are hearing that some folks are lucky enough to reel a few in.

Be safe and keep those lines tight my friends!

Keep those lines tight!!
