Bringing Your Boat to Stagecoach State Park July 4th Weekend

If you’re planning on bringing your boat up to Stagecoach Marina at Stagecoach State Park over the holiday weekend, I want to make you aware of a few items:

1. Our nightly slips at the marina are full. However, if you are not aware, you are allowed to park your boat anywhere you’d like along the shoreline other than areas marked otherwise.

2.One good place is the cove right below the Yampa Pavilion. This is easily accessible with some parking and lots of day-use picnic tables in that area. Another great spot is the Haybro day use area in Harding cove. Both locations have day-use mooring poles.

3. You can park in front of your campsite; some locations are better than others.

4. The Stagecoach marina store is open with standard COVID-19 rules and we have fuel and ice for sale at the fuel dock. Please do not pull into slips as all of our 46 slips are reserved for the summer.

5.If you need to book a boat, visit the boat rentals page on Steamboat Springs Boat Rentals.

Thanks so much and we hope to see you soon
Tom

Catch Big Fish at Stagecoach Lake with Steamboat Springs Boat Rentals

Steamboat Springs Boat Rentals is excited to announce we know have a guided fishing tour for those new to Stagecoach Lake. Rich Robinson (seen above) is an expert fisherman and is now providing guided fishing tours throughout the summer.

Stagecoach Lake is famous for our state record-sized Pike. And as you can see above, our Trout isn’t too bad either. If you get lucky, you might even catch a Walleye.

Through your booking with Fareharbor (under Boat Rentals on this website) you can add his services. If you have any questions

John was quite pleased to see that the new grills have arrived.

Pontoon Boat at Steamboat Springs Boat Rentals!

John, one of today’s pontoon boat rental customers, was quite pleased to see that the new grills have arrived. This week we outfitted all of our pontoon boats with new, bigger and better grills. If you have two people or ten people on your boat, we have your grilling needs covered!

Don’t forget dogs are always welcome for an extra $25 cleaning fee because we know how important it is to have the whole family together for an incredible outing on Stagecoach Lake at Stagecoach Stage Park. Want to make a full day of your outing? Rent a couple of SUP paddle boards for a little exercise. We recommend SUP paddle boarding in the morning or evenings as the afternoons can get a little windy. Staying close to shore keeps you away from waves from boats and gives you the best views of on-shore wildlife like deer. Pelicans are plentiful this year and have no problem sharing the lake with others.

We also offer Boston Whaler fishing boats and fishing poles. Worms and hooks are available at the Stagecoach Marina Store. If you are in Steamboat, want to float on a lake and soak up the sun, contact Steamboat Springs Boat Rentals. Ready to grill? Come enjoy a pontoon with a shiny new grill!

Nineteen Winners Chosen for Pontoon Boat Rental Give-Away

Stagecoach Springs Boat Rentals in partnership with Always Mountain Time is excited to announce that we have chosen nineteen winners for our Pontoon Boat Rental Give-away. Winners are all from Routt County and sent us a note telling us what a boat rental would mean to them.

As a family-owned business, my family and I wanted to do something to give back during the struggles of COVID-19.  We know a lot of people are struggling emotionally and financially. From personal experience, floating for a half day on a pontoon boat with the sun shining, or with good friends and family, can help take your mind of life’s difficulties at least for a short while.

I have been fortunate enough to own Stagecoach Marina for most of my kids’ lives. During our time there, we have met some incredible people, developed friendships and been able to offer paddleboards, kayaks, fishing boats and pontoon boats for rent during the summer. Why do we do it? Because the smiles on peoples faces after they get some time in and on the water in the summer is so worth it.

If you didn’t enter the contest, we hope you will still make your way out to Stagecoach Marina this summer to stop in and say hi. Our Marina Store has everything you need for snacks, refreshments, fishing and all those little things you might have forgotten to bring.

Stagecoach Lake & Marina is located in Stagecoach State Park and is the closest lake to Steamboat Springs for fishing, wake boarding, canoeing, kayaking, paddleboarding (SUPs) or just floating lazily on a pontoon boat.  Join us this summer and experience the magic of Steamboat Springs Boat Rentals at Stagecoach Marina.

Questions? Don’t hesitate to call us at: 970-736-8342. We hope to see you soon.

TIP: During early summer, mornings usually offer the best weather!

State record-breaking pike caught at Stagecoach Marina

If you haven’t heard the news this May, two locals caught what is believed to be a new state record for Northern Pike at Stagecoach Marina near Steamboat Springs, Colorado. The fish measured 48” and weighed 38lbs. It took a half hour to reel the fish in. Due to the stress, the pike did not survive.  The two men, guided by Brady Wettlaufer of Steamboat Fishing Adventures, are not sure if they are want to make their catch official.

The current record for Northern Pike also comes from Stagecoach Marina in 2006. The pike measured 46.5” and weighed 30lbs 11ozs. Now is the time for fishermen to try their luck at Stagecoach Marina. The trout taste best in the spring. Walleye are incredible, if you are lucky enough to catch one. No boat? Steamboat Springs boat rentals rents Boston Whalers and pontoon boats outfitted for fishing. Barbeques on the pontoon boats mean you can cook up what you catch.

For tips on where to fish, what lures to use and what time of day to fish, visit the Stagecoach Marina store located inside Stagecoach State Park. Stagecoach Marina has long been an attraction for fishermen as well as one of the most scenic places to rent boats in and around Steamboat Springs. This family-owned business, run by Tom Thurston and his daughters Greta and Leona, makes sure all of your fishing needs are taken care of. The Marina store has lures, lines, worms and fishing pole rentals. Both Tom and his daughter, Leona, are avid fishermen and can let you know the best places to try your luck at fishing.

Reservations are recommended for any fishing boat rentals. New COVID-19 safety precautions mean a day on the lake will be a safe for you and your family. Dogs are welcome for an additional $25 cleaning fee.  Questions? Contact Stagecoach Marina for the Steamboat local’s favorite boat rentals. 970-736-8342.
